Web-based e-learning (Sep 2012 – Jul 2013)


I led a team of developers in building an online reader application for certification training programs. This was a web application with a node.js backend. It involved the use of websockets for instantaneous communication across sessions of the user.and Q.js for promises.


Ecommerce supply chain management  (Jan 2012 – Aug 2013)


I was part of a team building the supply chain management system of a major Indian ecommerce website. The project involved the design and implementation of RESTful web services. My responsibilities also included ramping up the client developers on Ruby and practices like test driven development.


Cloud provision management (Oct 2010 – Dec 2011)


I led a team of developers in maintaining and adding new features to a suite of applications used to control the creation and maintenance of virtual machines and their infrastructure for what turned out to be the precursor to OpenStack. The applications included server  provisioning, customer interfaces, management interfaces, storage management, etc. The services were ActiveResource-based and the Ruby code was the connector between the JavaScript UI frontend and the Unix commands and system calls that needed to be executed on the servers to manage the cloud.


Reviews and Q&A website (May 2010 - Oct 2010)


I led a team of developers in building the Q&A portion of a web application for a product reviews website.This involved a lot of refactoring of the existing codebase, both the Ruby backend and the JavaScript frontend.


Ophthalmology medical records keeping (Dec 2009 - Apr 2010)


I was part of a team that worked on a very rich web application for use by ophthalmologists and optometrists for maintaining Electronic Medical Records of patients. This was a grails and GWT based application with a MySQL persistence store.


Online Retail (Mar 2009 - Nov 2009)


I led a team of developers in developing new features for the web front-end of a retailer's online shopping experience. This involved a lot of refactoring including an implementation of the MVC pattern in plain JavaScript.


Book publishing company website (Aug 2008 - Mar 2009)


I was part of a team that was rebuilding the primary portal for a book publisher. This website needed to have features like user reviews, forums etc, This was a Ruby on Rails application with a jQuery based frontend.

I was part of a team that built a Ruby on Rails web application for end users to be able to pick mobile phone deals based on user-specified parameters.

Railway Track defect reporting (Aug 2002 - Dec 2003)


I worked on a distributed DCOM application on C++ for Windows that was used to analyze defects on train tracks. It involved three different services, one of which collected defect information from the tracks, another analyzed the defects and the third produced reports. Win32, C++, MFC, C++
